I'm working in a research group of Material Science at INSA de Lyon, France, in partnership with Saint-Gobain on project NACRE. The purpose of this project is the control of freeze-casting of colloidal solution of Alumina, in order to create a high strength ceramic material, with porous behaviour at microscale. I'm also completing my PhD thesis in Mechanical & Manufactoring Engineering dept. of Trinity College, Dublin. Part of the grinding and machining research group, my task is investigating on turning machining process, in particular about the heat transfer between the workpiece and the cutting tool, developing and testing new air based cooling system, trying to replace the traditional oil based coolant.
I'm currently attending the Master2 in Musicology at Université Lumiere Lyon2, France, with a thesis on automated music analysis and automatic segmentation of a music score in MIDI format. At Conservatoire Regional de Lyon (CNR-Lyon) I'm studying at chamber music and practical harmony on the piano (4th cycle). At Ecole Nationale de Musique (ENM-Villeurbanne, Lyon) I'm studying composition (2nd cycle) and harpsichord (stage DEM).
I'm teaching basics of traditional chinese kung fu at INSA de Lyon (CASI-INSA Lyon), with particular emphasis on two aspect of kung fu: 1) the link between the martial arts, modern boxing and self-defence; 2) the effect of learning kung fu on the consciousness of human body
